After a long chat in the Rendevous Room,
the couple has decided to break up, much to their own dismay. It seems
the struggles they’ve undergone and the pressure of The Chase has
finally caught up with this beautiful pair.
Cleo was supposed to move to the Diamond House, as per their plans at
the Arena yesterday. But when it came to the crunch, Cleo changed her
mind and decided to stay with the Rubies. She tried to explain to a
heartbroken Hakeem that being in the same House would weaken their
chances in the game and they’d be seen as easy targets for Eviction like
LK4 and Koketso. This was Cleo’s biggest fear because she didn’t want
to leave just yet.
Hakeem confessed that Cleo
is all that he thinks about in the Diamond
House and it’s killing him that they can’t be together. He then
resorted to a break up where he gave Cleo time to think about
everything, including the future of their relationship. A confused Cleo
was initially against the break up but soon understood where the
Zimbabwean model was coming from. The fact remained that this is a game
and they are there to take a chance at winning the money and not looking
for love. This was Cleo’s view of the whole situation, hence she agreed
to the split.
When he got back to the Diamond House, he told his fellow Housemate
Annabel that he broke things off with Cleo. Annabel told him that maybe
this is a blessing in disguise because he has to concentrate on himself
and his game. Her advice didn’t seem to sink in Hakeem’s head as the
wounds were still fresh.
It’s always sad to see couples separated by their drive for the prize
money. Real connections have been developed in the past three weeks and
most of them have not made it because the money chase is bigger than
that of love. It seems that love in Biggie’s House ends up being viewed
as a distraction more than anything else.
